The country and its history

More than 20 years after the genocide, Rwanda presents itself as a rather calm and peaceful African country. Rwanda receives a relatively large amount of development aid compared to its size, but also shows great efforts to modernize the country and improve economic conditions.

Educational system in Rwanda

In 1979, the state took over school sovereignty and introduced compulsory education for children between the age of 7 and 26. But even today, many children in Rwanda can only attend school for one or two years, or cannot go to school at all.
